POEM

WE ARE ONE

Kenya is a nation
Under one sunshine
That beams upon our blessed land,
Towards our farms and our earnings.

We are a nation of all walks, yet one crowd;
We are a nation of all creeds, yet one colour,
Of one flesh and of one soul.

When the nation feels sad,
I feel bad.
When it feels hard,
I feel the hurdles.

For hard times call for solidarity,
To donate generosity
Of food, blood and love
To the injured and the bereaved.

I am Kenyan!

For I am a family of love,
Of one dad and one mama,
Of sons and daughters of the same rope.
I am not divided, though the devil wants me to be!

I am filial, like a flower’s filament.
We are one on all occasions!
A nation of all tribes, yet one clan,
For I am one fraternity.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • Did you know that the sting of a jellyfish can paralyse a horse?
  • Did you know that some shark species practise intrauterine cannibalism, where developing embryos may feed on one another, with the strongest surviving until birth?

QUOTES FROM STUDENTS

THE THINGS I BELIEVE IN LIFE

  1. Your success will not be of any benefit if it does not touch people’s welfare in a positive way.
  2. You need to live knowing that the shortest way to failure is trying to please everybody.
  3. You can be, have, or do anything that you want if only you want it hard enough. God gives us what we are passionate about, not merely what we want.
  4. Destiny is not a matter of chance; it is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, but a thing to be achieved.

By Lameck Andahi Usuru (Captain)

“A real friend is not one who only entertains you, but one who cares about you and will be there when you cry.”

“Kind words bring life, but cruel words crush your spirit.”

“Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid of failure.”

“Never take life too seriously; nobody gets out alive anyway. Live your life and forget your age.”

By Lenny Wayne

Life is a journey where the wise are valued. Fools may be many in company, but they are of little importance. Be among the wise and shape your future.

Life is a journey full of ups and downs. A driver is needed to drive the car that is life. Have God as your guide and the most important part of your journey.

“God made us plain and simple, but we have made ourselves very complicated.”
Many are those who die while still young and live for the rest of their lives as corpses.

Sacrifice now and live as a king tomorrow.

Who said that success is personal? No, it isn't. The community and the country at large depend on us.

Remember This:

  1. The greatest person in life is not the person who conquers nations, but the person who conquers himself.
  2. There are many wishes in life, but let us stop wishing and start fishing, remembering that success is a state of mind.

By Otero Lameck Nyachae

Bad habits are like good beds: easy to get into but hard to get out of.

Life makes sense when we learn to see it from God's point of view.

SCHOOL HUMOUR

A Funny Classroom Moment

During an afternoon lesson in Form 3, the teacher asked the students to draw a standing cow. While checking their work, he came across one boy.

Teacher: What have you drawn?
Student: A cow.
Teacher: Yours is sitting, but I said a standing cow.
Student: I drew it standing, but it got tired and sat down!

Mother: Yes, I am sure.

Child: So, what is the colour of your hair?

Mother: Black.

Child: See, I told you I would make you say “black.”

Mother: No, you never said “black.” You said “red.”

Child: At last, you have said it—red!
