I have heard it said that there are two kinds of education in Africa that is “elimu bora ” na ” bora elimu.” In Bahati Boys what I procure was “Elimu bora.” When I joined the school and embarked on my 4 year journey, I was determined to achieve greatness in academic.

The journey wasn’t easy and was full of challenges since the school had just prevailed for one year but with determination and self-believe we were convinced we were still in the right place and destined for eminence.

I recall how the architecture of the school was discouraging at first site, a midget dormitory and even water scarcity was a great challenge. All this did not encumber us from achieving our dreams. The Director Mr. Kamau who was ever present would always encourage us with his famous quote of “always remember the purpose.”

Even with all this challenges we still managed to overcome and excel in our academics. I personally managed to join the University of Eldoret and did my bachelor degree in education arts. Later came back to Bahati Boys as a teacher. To my amusement the school has really transformed. It has enhanced its structure and has reached level best. It now has big and spacious dormitories, big chapel, more classes and a modern dining hall.

Bahati Boys had a great impact to the person I’m today, it is in this fabulous school where the Christian values, beliefs and culture were inculcated in us. I’m thankful to our ever present director Mr. Kamau and all the teachers that always encouraged and gave us hope.
